I travelled back in Nepal and Bangladesh to work and meet the women behind, and make a new and cool collection together. I try to capture the story behind the artisans to bring this closer to you ;-)
About Weaving
A new impressive Fair Trade organisation for Anna Nera. Set up to safe the leprosy people who were banned by their families and become beggars at the temples. They provided medicines, food and a bed mostly funded by a German foundation/company. People survived the illness but most of them were disabled for live. Missing lumps or went totally blind. But when the people were healthy and still not accepted. the organisation decided to learn them a profession in a safe area. So they get a fair wage and housing and medical care for life.
That’s the start of making the beautifully woven fabrics and products they still make now. Traditional patterns, as special designs made for ANNA NERA. This heart warming organisation will take care of them for the rest of their lives. So know as a customer that your purchase is a valuable one in many ways. Our job to design beautiful products.
